Dhamma for Lifestyle (12)

ProtectiveDhamma

People protect themselves from dangers in various ways. Actually, four Protective Dhamma can make secure to perfection. They are:
1. Recollection of the Buddha (Buddhanussati Bhavana),
2. Development of Loving kindness (Metta Bhavana),
3. Reflection on Foulness (Asubha Bhavana),
4. Mindfulness of Death (Maranassati Bhavana).
Buddhanussati Bhavana develop Sadddha which makes one to perform good deeds and may reborn in Upper Realms after death. Metta Bhavana lessen Anger (Dosa) and thus prevent dangers.
Asubha Bhavana discard Lust (Raga) whereas Maranassati Bhavana dispel Pride (Mana).
Both Raga and Mana will lead to rebirth in Apaya.
Hence, one should practise these Protective Dhamma and stay safe.
