တံုဂိုဏ္း /toun gain:/
n Buddhist sect in which monks and novitiates go out with the robe slung across the left shoulder. Also အတင္ဂိုဏ္း. cf ႐ံုဂိုဏ္း. [from the name of a village in Shwebo]
ေတြေဝ /twei wei/ v 1 be in a daze or stupor. 2 in decisive; waver; vacillate.
ေတြ႔ /twei./

v ... 2 meet; come across (as in သံသရာတစ္ေကြ႔ ၌ ~ ၾကရာဝယ္). 3 experience; feel (as in နဖူး ~ ဒူး ~ ).
ေတြ႔ဆံု /twei. hsoun/ v Same as ေတြ႔ v 2.
ေတြ႔ထိ /twei. hti./ v 1 touch; come into contact with. 2 Same as ေတြ႔ v 3.
ေတြး /twei:/ v think; ponder; reflect; imagine; consider.
တြက္ /twe'/ v part numerical classifier used in counting the snapping of fingers (as in လက္ဖ်စ္တစ္ ~ ).

ထ /hta./

part particle prefixed to the adjectival particle ေသာ to lend elegance to a statement (as in ျဖစ္ေတာ္မူ ~ ေသာ).
ထာဝစဉ္ /hta wazin/ adv always; forever; permanently. [Pali ထာဝရ + Myan အစဉ္]
ထာဝရ /hta wara./ adv Same as ထာဝစဉ္ adv. [Pali ထာဝရ]
ထာဝရဥစၥာ /hta wara. ou' sa/ n real estate. cf ဇဂၤမဥစၥာ.

ေတာင္စဉ္ခုနစ္ထပ္ /taun zin khun hnahta'/ n [cosmol] the even mountains ringing Mount Meru (ျမင္းမိုရ္).
ေတာင္ကြၽန္း /taun gjun:/

n [cosmol] the Southern Island; the great island south of Mount Meru (ျမင္းမိုရ္). See also ဇမၺဴ ဒိပ္၊ ဇမၺဴ ဒီပါ.
ေတာင့္တ /taun. da./ v wish for sth; long for; have a longing for sth.
တေစၧ /tahsei/ n ghost. [Pali တဇၨက]
တိတၳိ /dei' hti./ n heretic. [Pali တိတၳိယ]
တန္ခိုး /dagou:/ n power; potency (as in ေဆး ~ ).
တန္ခိုးျပာဋိဟာ /dagou: bja di.ha/ n miraculous power. [Myan တန္ခိုး + Sans ျပာတိဟာယ္]
တန္ခိုးအာနိသင္ /dagou: a ni. thin/ n potency [Myan တန္ခိုး + Pali အာနိသံသ]   

တန္ခိုးအာႏုေဘာ္ /dagou: a nu. bo/
n power and glory (as in ျမတ္စြာဘုရား၏ ~ ). [Myan တန္ခိုး + Pali အာႏုဘာဝ]
တန္ခိုးဣဒၶိပါဒ္ /dagou: ei' di. ba'/ n mystic power. [Myan တန္ခိုး + Pali ဣဒၶိပါဒ]
တုပ္ကြ /tou' kwa./ v 1 hold a respectful posture (with bent knee). 2 pay respect (as in ႐ုိေသ ~ -- ).
တမ္းတ /tan: ta./ v speak with longing, yearning.
တိမ္း /tein:/ v ... 4 deviate; err (as in အယူ ~ -- ).

Nidhinamva pavattaram, yam passe vajjadassinam;
niggayhavadim medhavim,tadisam panditam bhaje;
tadisam bhajamanassa, seyyo hoti na papiyo.
76: One should follow a man of wisdom who rebukes one for one's faults, as one would follow a guide to some buried treasure. To one who follows such a wise man, it will be an advantage and not a disadvantage.

Dhamma for Lifestyle (24)


Ideal Kuru Nations

While the Buddha was staying at Kammasa damma nigon in Kuru country, He gave a sermon of Maha satipatthana Sutta to the people of Kuru. The reason is that only those were able to listen to the deep in meaning of Dhamma.

At that time, the Kuru people's social development was high in complete fulfilment. The body and mind seemed to be healthy and happy due to the good climate and nutritious food. So, they could pay attention to the Dhamma. Generally, every Kuru people used to speak the words of Satipatthana and did not spend their time in idle gossip in workplace. The mutual relations among friends should be noted down for reference. When two person met, one would asked, “Hi, which dhamma do you practise?”. If the other replied, “ Nothing, because I have a lot of businesses to do”. Then he would be told that his lifestyle looked like a death and would be urged to do one of four Satipatthanas without neglection on mindfulness. If one answered, he observed in-breath and out-breath, he would be told that he was lucky in the presence of the Buddha enlightenment. That's how they were in good mutual relation.

Therfore the Kuru peoples' lifestyles were very highly developed culture. The Buddhists today should emulate them.
