Dhamma For Lifestyle (25)

Why not Practise Meditation?

Youth is like a summer flower which suddenly fades away.
Old age is like a fire spreading through the fields which suddenly, its at your heels.
Sickness is like a little bird wounded by a sling.
You do not know which time your health and strength will desert you.
When you are strong and healthy, you never think of sickness coming.
But it descends with sudden force like a stroke of lightning.
Death resemble an oil-dry lamp, after its last flicker.
The coming of death is like the shadow of a tree at sunset. It runs fast and none can halt it.
The Buddha once said, “ Birth and death are like sunrise and sunset, now come, now go”.
Sickness, old age and death ever meet each other as do hands and mouth.
Nothing in this world is permanent.
Though Dhamma is the best source of victory, those who aspire to it are rare.
Remembering these things, why not practise meditation.
