Dhamma Terms (1)


ကကုသန္ /ka. ku. than/  
n name of the first of the five Buddhas to spread enlightenment in this world. See also ဘဒၵကမၻာ [Pali ကကုသႏၶ]
ကတၫုတ /katin nju. ta./ n gratitude. [Pali ကတၫုတာ]
ကတိ /gati/ n 1. promise. 2. agreement. [Pali ကတိတာ]
ကထိက /kahti. ka./ n lecturer. [Pali ကထိက]
ကထိန္ /kahtein/  

n offering of yellow robes to the members of the Buddhist Order for a special purpose, between the first waning day of သီတင္းကြၽတ္ and the full moon day of တန္ေဆာင္ မုန္း. [Pali ကထိန]
က႐ုဏာ /karu. na/
n compassion; sympathy. [Pali က႐ုဏာ] One of the four "sublime abodes" (brahma-vihāra).

ကလလရည္ၾကည္ /kalala. jei gji/
n embryo at the moment of conception. [Pali ကလလ + Myan ရည္ၾကည္]

ကလိယုဂ္ /kali. jou'/
n decadent times; age of evil. [Pali ကလိယုဂ]

ကလာပ္စည္း /kala' si:/ n cell. [Pali ကလာပ + Myan စည္း]
ကလ်ာ /kalja/  

n 1. womanly virtues (of which there are five viz excellence of complexion, structure, figure, hair and youthfulness). [Pali ကလ်ာဏ] 2. such a woman. [Pali ကလ်ာဏီ]
ကလ်ာဏမိတၱ /kaljana. mitta./
n admirable friend; a mentor or teacher of Dhamma. The Buddha said that noble friendship is the entire Noble life. [Pali: Kalyāna-mitta]
